I know for fact that Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan and Al Sharpton are highway thieves who use any opportunity to cry out racism. Spike Lee ne reproche pas a Clint de n'avoir pas mis un noir sur cette fameuse photo. Ces remarques sont bien justifiees puisqu'il y a eu au moins des centaines d'afro-americains a Iwo Jima et aucune trace de ces soldats dams les 2 films. |

Farrakhan, Sharpton and JJ play a prominent
role in bringing serious issues related to Black america to the mainstream. Please brother and Sister, Ieave that sycophantic and empty rhetorics to the right wing talk radio hosts.
Despite the great stride, Racism is still pervasive in the US and all over the world. It won't go away unless some folks risk their lives and their reputations to do something about it.
What make me thick is the fact we excel in the art of shooting ourselves in the foot. If you have a clue of Mr Lee is, you don't wake up any morning to question the work of a cultural icon such Eastwood.
He earned that right through its work.
Needless to say that we are well aware of the power of the image this day. No one has done more than Lee give Black America its due.
Please be kind to bro Lee. It's not simply whinning. The man is on a mission. So he has carried that more that well. He is a icon, unless you are icon yourself my honest advice for you is to shut up unless you have done something that measure up to Lee's work.

Brievement, il dit de laisser Lee tranquille et de ne pas le critiquer car il apporte beaucoup a la communaute' noire. Cela etant, il suggere gentiment a ceux qui critiquent Spike Lee de la fermer et de faire quelque chose pour la communaute' noire, comme Lee le fait. Pour lui, Lee est une icone, et il ne faut pas taper dessus. |

Thank you for the support. I don't believe Brother Marc T. is a bad personne, I think he is simply misguided and not well informed. If Jessie Jackson cares so much about black people, why does he take money from big corporations instead-of fighting for equal opportunity? The Same Jessie Jackson is good friend with African dictatorship like Bongo, Biya, Obiang Guema and the Eyadema's (son and late father). The other Bandit, Farakhan is best body wih Kaddafi, El Bashir and the dictatorship of the middle east. Have you heard Farakhan condemning the genocide in Sudan? No, of course El Beshir feeds him and his family.

I think there is a misunderstanding of my position, hence this clarification.
First of all thanks everybody your comments. I do appreciate that.
I don't condone nor fawn JJ, Farrakan and Lee for their incessant whining.
In our critic (Which I see mostly as an admonition), I hope we do not loose sight of the role play by this individual in US society and judge them consequentially.
I have been asked to wise up. Thank you Bro for the advice. I'm gonna try hard (-:.
Back to Lee, my main point of contention is the bro use all the leverage provide by its status. In this case he is giving a close look at the work of a peer. If you think that he is wrong of doing good for you. Stop playing Uncle Tom, If you think that he needs to be cautious. He has been doing that for more than 20 years now with more than positive result. My main point being if the benefit outweigh the backlash go for it. This is my motto when it come to sensitive issue.
All black franchisee owners and government contractors won't complain. They are millionaire thanks to JJ and Farrakhan monkey business.
If you live in this beautiful US and you are naive enough to think that Lee is cry baby I have a bridge to sell. This is strategic positioning. For Eastwood to take the time to respond proves that it didn't fall into deaf ear.
To sum up, when it comes to sensible issue, don't fall for red herring and look at the big picture. Those brother might not be perfect, there is no way to deny their contribution to black America progress
