Etymology of the term
Beyonce did not invent the word Bootylicious! On the tv show A Different World, the episode with Tupac Shakur when he played Picalo, Lena's (Jada Pinkett Smith) ex-boyfriend, the guy that came with him referred to Gina (AJ Sanders) and Charmaine (karen melina white) butts as bootylicious. This was in the early 90s, around 1992-1993. The word "bootylicious" means "shapely, voluptuous, especially with reference to the buttocks". The word is a portmanteau of "booty" (buttocks) and "delicious". The first recorded use is by Snoop Dogg in 1992:
"Your bark was loud, but your bite wasn't vicious,
And them rhymes you were kickin were quite bootylicious."
The word has recently been added to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. Beyoncé Knowles has said that her definition of the word is "beautiful, bountiful and bounceable."

je fais de l'esprit mais je trouve que le fait qu'une chanteuse aussi jeune et talentueuse qu'elle est son mot dans le dico peut-être qu'elle en aura un autre cela étant dit je pense qu'avec cette chanson elle a décompléxé beaucoup de filles jeunes et moins jeunes allz salut. |
