Une artiste de grand talent et une femme avec un coeur énorme, mais quand je pense à toutes les "singeries" qu'elle a dû faire dans ses shows (revue nègre etc.) pour plaire aux bobos racistes blancs ignares de l'époque y'a bon Banania, ça me fait toujours mal.
De tous ceux qui l'ont connue ou du moins cotoyée, seuls ses nombreux enfants sans doute seraient à même de lui rendre hommage mieux que quiconque.
Une grande dame qui est partie sur la pointe des pieds après avoir tout donné ! |

Joe' Baker??? I guess performing on stage with BANANAS wrapped around her waists did contribute mightily to the understanding of AFRO experience and culture huh?!
....Kind of hilarious the way she was making her snap$, "MONKEYing around" on the stage. Wow, a bold woman she was!
