La politique de l'État de l'Illinois continue de capter l'attention de la nation. Il ya quelques mois, la ville de Chicago est devenue la capitale des médias de la nation et du monde, le soir que nous avons attendu le sénateur Barack Obama à proclamer sa victoire au Grant Park, au centre-ville de Chicago.

Ces jours-ci, après des rapports de presse ont révélé que le gouverneur de l'Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, aurait apparemment tenté de «vendre» le Sénat siège laissé vacant par l'actuel président élu, l'attention des médias est toujours rivés sur Chicago.

L'homme nommé par le gouverneur de remplacer le siège laissé vacant actuellement au Sénat, Roland Burris, n'a pas été certifié par le secrétaire d'État de l'Illinois. Ultérieurement, il a été refusé l'entrée dans le Sénat des États-Unis à Washington, DC.

Drama.

Selon les médias, le président élu Obama veut un règlement amiable et rapide à l'ensemble de ce drame venant de sa "ville natale", dès que possible. Il tire l'énergie et l'attention loin de son inauguration triomphale.

Mon pari est que, dans quelques jours, Roland Burris sera assis et assermentés dans le Sénat des États-Unis. Notre attention, les caméras et les médias, donne à nouveau à Washington, DC, la capitale du pays. Compte reglé et oublié.

Et, pour la première fois depuis longtemps, Washington, DC, sera de retour d'être la capitale des médias et de Chicago sera de retour d'être ce qu'elle a été surnommée: la "Second City".

Bien que, cette fois, ce sera la deuxième à Washington, DC, et non plus à New York City!

These days, after news reports revealed that the Governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, has allegedly apparently tried to "sell" the Senate seat vacated by the now President-elect, media attention is still riveted on Chicago.

The man appointed by the Governor to replace the now-vacated seat in the Senate, Roland Burris, was not certified by the Secretary of State of Illinois. Subsequently, he has been refused entrance in the United States Senate in Washington, DC.

Drama.

Media reports suggest that President-elect Obama wants a speedy and amicable resolution to all of this drama coming from his "hometown", as soon as possible. It is drawing energy and attention away from his triumphant Inauguration.

My bet is that in a few short days Roland Burris will be seated and sworn-in to the United States Senate. Our attention, and the media cameras, will direct themselves again on Washington, DC, the nation's capital.

And, for the first time in a long time, Washington, DC will return to being the media capital and Chicago will return to being what it has been dubbed: the "Second City".

Though, this time, it will be second ONLY to Washington, DC, and no longer to New York City!''
